I am honored to be coaching 6 individual agents from different companies and 10 managing brokers from across the state. We came together prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. We set goals and tasks and began to see results. Now, that business and the entire world are not operating as usual, staying on task, connecting and accountability are more important than ever. Many of you already know that real estate has been my sole primary source of income over the last 48 years. I don’t share that to let you know how old I am, or even how wise, I share to give you hope and a promise that we will survive this and be better and stronger when this is over. I have weathered earthquakes and market crashes in California. I have sold real estate when interest rates reached 19% and survived when there was too much inventory and when there wasn’t enough. I was able to thrive during the 2008 recession.
The most important lesson that I have learned throughout my real estate career is to be consistent and persistent, even when things seemed bleak. Get up, Dress up and Show up….even if you are forced, as now, to stay home. There is still so much to do that will position you as the “expert” for your Sphere of Influence. This is the time to prepare wisely for what life will be like when this crisis has past. And it will pass! Nothing lasts forever not the good, and certainly not the bad. It is critical that we come out of this better educated, better connected and more valuable to ourselves, our clients and our industry. Better is the optimal word.
