Why me?
Why You?
Why Bother?
Discovering YOUR why.
There is no need for another dissertation on the meaning of life and how to find it. For thousands, if not millions of years hundreds of people in every generation have told stories and shared experiences with the hopes of leading others to peace and happiness. In the past, because of this, I have chosen not to bore the world with my musings. But now, also because of that, I think I must. Do I have any new material, insights, or secrets that have not already been delivered? No, of course not, for I believe that there is nothing that has not been shared. However, each voice that chooses to speak is unique and, like snowflakes, is never duplicated in quite the same way. Because the driving force of love pushes me to give, I will answer the call to vulnerably tell what I have learned (albeit the hard way) over my 70 years. My hope is that the message I share will reach someone that is needing to hear the words that are uniquely mine. May my little offering of love and hope add a drop of positive energy to the universe. I believe that all humanity is called to love, and any act, no matter how small, combined with all the acts that came before and continue, will make a difference now and forever.
Like rain drops these words will fall and the results, I can only pray, will give a little seed of hope the chance to grow into something of beauty, nourishment and sustaining strength. Even a dandelion pushing through the cracks of cement offer their gift of life to all who notice.
As Victor Frankel shares in his powerful book Man’s Search for Meaning,—
“striving to find the meaning in one’s life is man’s primary motivational force.”
